Hosting Li Jin brought audiences into close conversation with one of China’s most celebrated ink artists.

In her interview with Li Jin, Charmaine learned that his artistic journey began at just three years old, when the brush became a tool for focus and expression, evolving into a visual language for capturing the poetry of everyday life.
Shaped by his travels across Bali, Japan, and China, his works feature familiar motifs — cabbage, hong shao rou, expressive fish, and subtle self-portraits — layered with memory, culture, and perspective.
Presented by ICON Singapore as part of Singapore Art Week and ART SG, his works are held in major museum collections worldwide, including The Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, a testament to the timeless resonance of his artistic voice.
