Charmaine spoke with internationally-acclaimed safety speaker Candace Carnahan about a workplace accident that changed her life.

Candace had been following practices she had seen her co-workers use, unaware of the danger until it was too late.
In Part 1 of the Workplace Safety & Health Council’s Let’s Talk podcast, Candace reflects on how complacency can cause unsafe practices to become normalised. She also shares why safety awareness should begin even before a person enters the workforce, and why having the courage to speak up can make all the difference.
As Candace says, “Safety is doing the right thing when nobody’s looking.”
