Charmaine wanted to dress up the dining table with a sprinkle of Christmas. So we curated a collection of cheeses, fruits, tomatoes, olives, salami, crackers, nuts and thyme on charcuterie boards, and decorated the table with eucalyptus leaves and red berries.These platters paired with Rosé are perfect for entertaining! Emcee Singapore: Charmaine hosted the grand finale of Singapore Home Chef Idol 2022 that saw friendly competition and camaraderie around six finalists with a diverse repertoire of cooking styles. Singapore Home Chef Idol 2022 is a hybrid cooking competition showcasing Singapore’s fabulous food recipes put together by amateur home cooks. The competition attracted over 80 submissions across six specialty categories: #MeatLovers, #FamilyandKidsMeals, #CreativeFlavours, #HuijiHealthyChristmas, #SomethingNewWithDelMonte and #FestiveDrinksDesserts. In the grand finale, we had a blast introducing viewers to FairPrice recipe portal https://www.fairprice.com.sg/recipes , a one-stop destination for meal preparation and recipe inspiration, including the winners’ festive dishes! Emcee Singapore: It’s the time of the year to rock this festive season with a special one-off Christmas performance by home-grown talents at Paragon Shopping Centre. Emcee Singapore Charmaine hosted the M65 Anniversary Celebrations. As part of Metro 65th anniversary, it is pledging 1.5 percent of its December 2022 retail revenue towards helping Singaporeans under the “Metro Is Singapore” Corporate Social Responsibility Initiative. Metro has grown over the past 65 years with the support of Singaporeans. The Group acknowledges the support the Singaporean community has provided and wishes to give back amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, which has affected the lives of many. The crowd cheered our home-grown artistes, Benjamin Kheng and Annette Lee, who belted their all-time favourites and new releases for this special one-off Christmas performance. What will you leave behind in 2022? What are you bringing to 2023? Celebrating the great, letting go of the bad habits and what Charmaine’ll like to invite more of next year! Charmaine’d the most rejuvenating break from the unforgettable road trip to Israel and Jordan. In my relationship, we often talk about the good, the bad and what we can improve on. That got me thinking – why not do that for the year since it’s coming to an end? Here’s what makes 2022 great: Grateful that this has been one of our busiest hosting years yet since the pandemic! ❤️Loving moments of adulting and moved into a beautiful apartment. ❤️Found a great combination of various therapies that have been integral to my mental health journey. ❤️Balanced my time between work, relationship and time with family. Charmaine’d always evaluating ways to improve different aspects of my life and focus on the activities without burning out so some bad habits must go. So these are the bad habits I’m leaving behind in 2022: 💛Comparing myself to others. The saying is true – this is the thief of joy. 💛 Working nonstop at the expense of my fitness and health. 💛 People pleasing. This one has cost me a lot of unhappiness and I am learning to be better at this. In exchange, I’m going to invite more of: 💚Acceptance of myself and truly loving myself 💚 Quality relationships with those around me 💚 More meaningful work 💚 Being curious and learning new skills 2023 is going to be fantastic!!!

Emcee Singapore: Charmaine hosted the Mount Elizabeth Annual Medical Webinar 2022. The theme for this year’s Annual Medical Seminar was – “Navigating New Hopes and Possibilities”. Six eminent speakers and two panel discussions shared medical experiences on new approaches to manage diseases. I am always fascinated at how advances in surgery and medical treatment touch lives. The speakers covered a range of topics from ‘Urologist Proton Therapy – Accelerating into the Future of Radiotherapy’ to ‘Gastroenterologist Robotic Surgery in Cancer’. It was refreshing to hear insightful updates on ‘Paradigm Shifts in Oncology from Past to Future’, ‘Advanced Endoscopic Techniques in the Management of Gastrointestinal Malignancies’ and ‘Cardio-oncology – Risk Prediction and Surveillance for Cardiotoxicity in Cancer Patients’.

Thank you so much for listening, texting, coming up to share your radio moment on KISS92FM on The Afternoon Scoop with me and putting up with my occasional weirdness! More than a radio presenter, Charmaine is also an event host and professional emcee. From facilitating panel discussions and corporate events to award ceremonies and product launches, Charmaine gets to connect and engage with my audience. In a recent interview, Charmaine was asked which I prefer – hosting events or hosting on radio? The truth is they’re different. Personally, she feels they go really well together, and I try to balance both. What she likes most is the human connection and stories that she is privileged to share through the mic, and she remains very grateful for that. This is what brings her joy in what she does. Emcee Singapore: Charmaine welcomed visitors to the Christmas Bazaar showcasing local enterprises that carried out a variety of festive activities and conducted workshops to promote lifelong learning and pick up in-demand skills. We had artsy experiences at the Succulent Terrarium Workshop, Christmas Bath Bomb Workshops, Christmas Wreath Making and many more! Was impressed with the sustainability efforts of local brands towards sustainability, notably Chokmah , that showed participants how they could create unique trinket dishes using eco-friendly materials through colour mixing and casting! They reused scrapes from the coasters to further reduce their carbon footprint. Another eco-friendly label was paper atelier Print N Matters, that shared a sustainable approach to create upcycled paper from paper pulp in 3 simple steps. Many retailers showcased lovely festive arts and crafts including: BeFiore , a local homegrown florist with pine collections and poinsettias. Aesthetique hand-made botanical scented stone items. State of Matter Co. candles made from 100% natural soy wax embedded with fragrant crystals. On fringe activities, upskilling courses were conducted on mobile photography and mobile videography, where participants learned to take picture-perfect moments on mobile phones.

Emcee Singapore: Charmaine launched Alumni UK – a new proposition with ambitious plans to build connections and grow it to be the largest global alumni network at Eden Hall the official residence of Her Excellency Kara Owen , British High Commissioner. Did you know? UK is the top destination for Nobel prize winners who have studied abroad? Nearly 40% of Nobel laureates who studied at universities outside their home country went to universities in the UK. So the UK higher education experience is clearly an invaluable one – among other things, it helps shape amazing people who make a difference in our world. A personal highlight was meeting two illustrious ladies – Amanda Chong from Singapore and Asha de Vos from Sri Lanka – who are truly inspirational. Amanda is a lawyer, poet, playwright, advocate. She was trained as a lawyer in Cambridge. Her poetry has been engraved on the Helix Bridge up the road and is in the GCSE syllabus. She was a President’s Scholar, won the Singapore Youth Award, was in the Generation T List of Young Leaders shaping Asia’s future. AND this year, she received the Commonwealth Points of Light Award from Her Majesty The Queen Elizabeth II. Asha De Vos is a marine biologist and founder of Oceanswell , Sri Lanka’s first marine conservation research and education organization. She is listed on the BBC 100 Women list of most inspiring and influential women from around the world. Kara Owen, British High Commissioner, spoke on her passion in supporting the international Alumni UK and maintaining their connection to the UK. Lucy Watkins, Regional Director, East Asia for the British Council shared exciting bold and ambitious plans to grow the worldwide professional network to develop the alumni’s career and offer new opportunities to help them succeed. The event was attended by a select group of eminent alumni, and it is truly commendable that British Council is developing the largest UK alumni network in the world!

Emcee Singapore: Charmaine kicked off the leisurely Fun Run @BirdPark for 2,000 SIA Engineering Company staff when the inclement weather cleared just in time for flagoff. Some participants were decked in colourful attire inspired by the habitants in the Bird Park surrounded by the calls of nature. Many of their adorable moments were captured at the photo booth. We were joined by students from Yuneng Primary School, a beneficiary of ‘Food from the Heart’ (FFTH), a charity adopted by the Company since 2012. The Fun Run @BirdPark organisers managed to raise a total of $50,000 for FFTH. The charity, founded to channel surplus food from bakeries, has distributed $7.2 million worth of food to families in need in 2021. There was enthusiastic support in making friendship bands using upcycled fabric and keychain using plastic bottle caps. The crowd cheered as this corporate run event at the park is historic because it is the last run before its move to its new premises in Mandai in January next year. Families and friends spent some time after the run to appreciate the park’s legacy and rich heritage.

Emcee Singapore: F1’s biggest news about Daniel Ricciardo returning to Red Bull Racing has just been announced! I’ve been a fan of his, even before I interviewed him and Max Verstappen. In a throwback to a fun segment, emcee Singapore Charmaine quizzed Daniel Ricciardo and Max Verstappen, including 3 things Daniel loves about the Singapore racetrack and 3 things Max loves about Daniel, when they were in Singapore as Red Bull teammates. Daniel will return to Red Bull for the 2023 Formula One season, reuniting with the team he raced for between 2014 and 2018 and with whom he scored seven grand prix victories. Daniel is much humbler in person, and I’m thrilled he’ll be back with Max because they’re such great teammates. On a serious note, I remember Daniel talking about the importance of teamwork, respect and trust that he has with Max. It’s an absolute privilege to hear his bit of advice when talking about setbacks – “Everything you can learn from, is an opportunity to become stronger”. 2023 is looking exciting for Red Bull and I can’t wait for the racing action! Emcee Singapore: Charmaine welcomed over 5,000 people from around the Asia Pacific region to the annual digital celebration of Zoom customers, partners and communities seeking to better understand the changing workplace. With the theme ‘Explore New Dimensions’, she connected with them to inspire them about the future and go beyond video meetings to dive deep into the integrated platform. Founder and CEO of Zoom, Eric S. Yuan (he / him / his) shared how love inspired him to help people stay connected. We also heard from over 30 distinguished speakers about ways to elevate their communication and collaboration experiences, bringing them closer to their vision, work and community, including: speakers giving a glimpse of how Zoom is paving the way for hybrid businesses with plenty of innovations to come. Exciting times ahead for us! customers on how they use the Zoom platform to explore new dimensions in their business. We also had breakout sessions for the participants to dive deeper into areas relevant for them.

Emcee Singapore: Charmaine hosted the Changi Airport Group (CAG) Annual Airport Safety Awards to recognize our safety champions who have contributed significantly to saving lives and preventing accidents at the airport in FY 2021/22. We tend to take safety for granted. But it truly important and our community remains relentless in placing safety as our top priority despite the unprecedented challenges during the pandemic. Emcee Singapore Charmaine is impressed that the community continues to innovate for safety and elevate performance of their safety-related initiatives! And speaking of safety innovations, we learned that CAG has introduced an easy-to-use SWEET app. Changi continues to encourage their staff to report potential safety risks through this hazard reporting tool in their effort to reinforce airport safety culture. We applaud all our unsung heroes for their alertness in sensing danger and promptly helping to prevent property damage and ensure safe airside operations. Airport management staff from CAG, including CEO Mr. Lee Seow Hiang, EVP Airport Management Mr. Tan Lye Teck, CAG, SVP Mr Alan Tan, and CAAS Deputy Director General Mr Ng Tee Chiou celebrated this momentous occasion with their award recipients.
